From Our Principal
Hello All,
34 people from 22 different countries became US citizens at HHS during our 5th annual Naturalization Ceremony. Our 11th and 12th graders were lucky enough to attend. Landya Marie Boyer McCafferty, chief judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire and Seth Aframe, 1st Circuit Court of Appeals judge, hosted a court session in our auditorium. This is a perfect ceremony to be held in a democratic school as it reminds us of many American ideals we should not take for granted. Thank you to Pam Custer and her Constitutional Law class for orchestrating the ceremony.

Council Report
Council met on Wednesday, September 18th, with successful presentations to all 9th grade Citizenship and World History classes under its belt.
Debate continued on the No School on Election Day motion, and the body neared a conclusion before ultimately running out of time. We encourage parents or those interested to share any thoughts about the motion at the final deliberation at next week’s meeting, 9/25. Work continues to pass the budgeting for all HHS Clubs. If you are an interested club member, please consult this helpful document for securing funding.
In other news, election sign ups have opened for both the 9th Grade Judiciary committee representatives and New and Tution Student reps. for Council. Write-ups for both are due this Sunday, 9/22, and elections will run next week. If you are interested in making your voice heard on either body, follow the links for more information! *(Links only viewable by SAU 70 emails)
As always, Council meets from 11:10-11:50 on Wednesdays in the HHS Chorus Room. The full agenda and minutes of Wednesday the 11th’s meeting, when completed, will be found using this link.
