WINTER SPORTS - REGISTER NOW
Winter sports registration is now open through FinalForms. If your student plans to play a winter sport, please register as soon as possible. Winter sports begin their seasons in mid- November. Registration is open until November 1.
If your student is playing a fall sport or already registered on FinalForms, simply log into your parent FinalForms account, choose the winter sport, make sure all the information is up-to-date and pay the registration fee. If you have not used FinalForms (new athletic registration system as of Fall 2022), you will need to set up an account to register your student. More detailed information on registration and winter sports can be found at Hanover High School Winter Sports Information.
Please reach out to the Athletic Department at 603-643-0655 if you have any questions.
Invite from HHS Cross Country
The 2024 Hanover High School Cross Country Teams welcome all intrepid community runners to take part in the annual community 5K race at the Dresden Athletic Fields in Norwich, VT on Wednesday October 9th. The race starts for everyone (mass start) at exactly 5PM so try and get there a bit earlier to get checked in, view the course and warm up. It is a great opportunity to get in one last hard run before the frigid winter sets in.

Council Report
Council met on Wednesday, October 2nd and passed the budget for the 2024-2025 school year! Notably, this includes a $3,000 allocation to Hanover High School Broadside so it can be distributed to the wider community.
As always, Council meets from 11:10-11:50 on Wednesdays in the HHS Chorus Room. The full agenda and minutes of Wednesday the 11th’s meeting, when completed, can be found here.

Counseling Department Updates
This week in Advisory, we introduced our ninth graders to the CASEL competencies: the core social emotional skills that we teach in our advisory curriculum. Here is the 9th grade lesson. Our tenth graders, juniors, and seniors are already quite familiar with these competencies, and they engaged in their first lesson in this year’s self-awareness unit. Students identified and reflected upon their own and others’ values. Check out the lessons for each grade level: 10th grade, 11th grade, 12th grade.
Upcoming Counseling Department Dates & Events

- AP Exam Registration runs Monday, September 30 - Friday, November 1
Hanover High School does not offer AP courses. Some HHS advanced level courses are AP-compatible, however, and the curriculum may include preparation for the national AP exams. As a courtesy to students who wish to demonstrate mastery of AP course content, HHS is an AP testing site. Students interested in taking AP exams are encouraged to ask their teachers whether their courses are AP-compatible.
Each test costs $99 and must be paid for electronically by selecting the test(s) from within MealTime. Fee waivers are available for students with financial need. Partial refunds are available if the test is canceled by March 1; no refunds are available after this date. Click here for the AP exam registration form and instructions.
