Message from our Principal

Dear Families,

Please take a moment to complete our family survey. This survey is anonymous; no email addresses are collected. The survey has been adapted from the Harvard Graduate School of Education Pre K-12 Parent Survey. The survey is designed to inform us around the following measures of family-school relationships:

parental support, child behaviors, parent engagement, school climate, parent, student, and school responsibilities, and how our programs and facilities match student's needs. We will use data collected from this survey to evaluate our school practices and inform our decision making.

If you have more than one student in the high school, please take this survey for each student.

Thank you for taking time to complete this survey.

Youth in Action

Student Leadership

Do you love community service? Are you looking for a leadership position for next year? If so, YIA’s Student Leadership Committee might be for you! The group meets twice a month during the activity period to plan and discuss YIA events. No leadership experience necessary but must have some community service experience (not necessarily through YIA) and commit to at least one community service activity per month. If you haven’t done any community service, there’s still time to sign up!  YIA May events

Senior Breakfast Volunteers

Every year on the day of graduation rehearsal, volunteers bring in breakfast for the seniors. It is a nice send off on their second to last day as students at Hanover High School. Please sign up to bring something or help set/clean up. Feel free to contact Beth DeSimone for more information and sign up on this spreadsheet.

Counseling Department Updates

Juniors
The March school day SAT scores are available on your CollegeBoard account. Reach out to the College Board if you are having difficulty accessing your scores.

Please complete your parent surveys in SCOIR! The information you share in this survey will help your student’s school counselor write a strong letter of recommendation for your student. Here is information for locating the survey in your parent account.

Early College

Vermont’s Early College program enables Vermont seniors to complete their last year of high school and their first year of college at the same time. Students earn free college credits that also count toward graduation from HHS. Students enroll in a full-time college course load each semester, and are also able to participate in HHS activities such as sports and prom. Priority admission deadline May 1, 2024. See your school counselor if you are interested in this program. The McClure Free Degree Promise is a pathway to a free associate degree for

Vermonters who complete the CCV Early College program and then continue with full-time enrollment at CCV to complete the second year of their associate degree.
