3/11-3/14- March Intensive
Message from the Principal
The school is a buzz with the anticipation of March Intensive. Students will be at school, all over the Upper Valley, the U.S. and the World. I hear year after year that so much is gained from all of these experiences. My own children have done MIs near and far and have felt the same way. My oldest child cites learning physical self-defense and working at the Haven as two separate highlights from her different MIs. We feel lucky to be able to provide this variety of experiences for our students. Although it is a heavy lift for our staff, I believe it is worth it. Thank you to everyone for all you do to make our March intensive week a success.

Council Reports
Council met this week on Wednesday, March 5th, and discussed the Actions of Trump Disavowal Resolution in continuation from the discussion last week. Points of the discussion included whether Council had jurisdiction to comment on political affairs, how contrasting opinions at the school should be respected, and how action steps could be taken at the school to advocate for its students. If you are interested in this discussion, or sharing your thoughts, the next meeting will be March 19th, after March intensive. Council also welcomed new members: Johnmark Morrell (‘27), Sam Bagatell (‘26), and Chris Chor (‘26), replacing representatives who had gone to semester schools.
Two weeks ago, Council referred the School Closures on Election Day Motion to the Administrative committee, seeking to move the voting location for the town of Hanover to a building other than Hanover High School, for reasons of safety, internet protection, and student convenience. If you are interested in assisting the committee or sharing your opinions, you can attend their meetings at 11:10am in R40 on Tuesday *not next week. A full list of committees and their meeting times is also on the website: https://hhs.sau70.
As always, Council meets from 11:10-11:50 on Wednesdays (not on March Intensive week) in the HHS Chorus Room. The full agenda and minutes of Wednesday’s meeting, along with records of all other meetings this year, will be posted when completed on the Hanover High School website.
