Voting Location Change Reminder
Please be advised that Hanover and Dresden voting on March 4, 2025 will be relocated to the Frances C. Richmond Middle School Gymnasium due to the high school boys basketball playoff game. We appreciate your understanding.
Voter parking will be in the parking lot accessed via Dresden Road at RMS - please follow the signs.

SPRING SPORTS - LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER
Spring sports registration is now open through FinalForms. If your student plans to play a spring sport, please register as soon as possible. Spring sports begin their seasons in mid-March. Registration is open until March 1.
If your student is playing a winter sport or already registered on FinalForms, simply log into your parent FinalForms account, choose the spring sport, make sure all the information is up-to-date and pay the registration fee. If you have not used FinalForms (new athletic registration system as of Fall 2022), you will need to set up an account to register your student. More detailed information on registration and spring sports can be found at Hanover High School Spring Sports Information.

Parent Ads for Senior Parents
Senior parents have the option of creating a parent ad in the yearbook. Parent ads go at the end of the yearbook and are a message you send to your child or to the class of 2025. Go to Picaboo to purchase and design your parent ad or learn about purchasing and designing your ad. Parent Ads are due April 25, 2025
Career Speaker
Joe Laws will be visiting HHS during lunch on Thursday, 3/6/25 to speak about his career. Mr. Laws has founded and led multiple cutting-edge startups—spanning tech and healthcare —while also serving as a Principal and Staff Engineer at Reddit and Dropbox, where he led hundreds of software engineers. At Google, he managed app development for major products like Nest, Google Search, and Google Drive. His leadership skills extend beyond the tech world: as a Captain in the U.S. Army and a US Army Ranger, he led infantry units in Afghanistan and received awards for combat leadership. He has also contributed to the finance sector, creating advanced trading algorithms at firms such as Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, and Susquehanna International. He pursued both M.S. and B.S. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering (with additional studies in Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering) at Carnegie Mellon University.

Counseling Department Updates
Important Semester 2 Academic Dates
Wednesday, March 5: 9th-11th graders submit course requests for their 2025-2026 courses. This process is done in classes.
Friday, March 7: Last day to change level in a semester 2 course.
Youth Risk Behavior Survey will take place on Thursday, March 27
- Students will complete the Youth Risk Behavior Survey during Advisory on March 27. If you do not want your student to complete the survey, please email Devon Voake, Counseling Department coordinator, at devonvoake@
hanovernorwichschools.org to opt your student out.
College Credit Opportunities
The Vermont Dual Enrollment Program enables Vermont juniors and seniors to take up to two FREE college courses for dual high school AND college credit.
Community College of Vermont information session Saturday, March 22 10 AM
- Learn about tuition-free opportunities available to high school students to earn college credit at CCV Upper Valley, 145 Billings Farm Road in Hartford. Some of the opportunities discussed include Access Day, Dual Enrollment, Early College, and financial aid. Register information here.
3D Technology Summer Institute at Vermont State University (VTSU) – Randolph
- Vermont students have the chance to explore cutting-edge 3D Imaging, 3D Printing, and 3D Modeling through hands-on, two-week intensive courses—while earning college credits for free! Interested students can learn more and apply at VermontState.edu/YouthCamps.
Opportunities for 9th and 10th Graders
Girls Technology Day at Hypertherm for 9th & 10th Graders: May 6 9:00 AM-1:15 PM.
- Hypertherm Associates is hosting Girls Technology Day on May 6, 2025, from 9:00am – 1:15pm. This event will include opportunities for plasma cutting, tours, various hands-on activities, and a career panel discussion with lunch and at the Heater Road facility in Lebanon. Students in 9th or 10th grade who are interested in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math are encouraged to apply via the Girls Technology Day application by March 31.

The School Day SAT for 11th graders is Wednesday, April 2.

Students who would like to prepare for the SAT can login to their CollegeBoard accounts to access FREE Kahn Academy test preparation that is tailored to their most recent CollegeBoard test performance.
- Students can also access free full-length practice tests through the Bluebook testing platform. There, students with accommodations can also practice using the built-in accessibility tools. Click here for more information about Bluebook practice resources.

The 2025-2026 FAFSA is now open, and FREE professional help is available to complete it.
- GraniteEdvance offers FREE professional support in completing the FAFSA to all New Hampshire students. First, create an FSA ID. Then, schedule an appointment.
- VSAC offers FREE professional support in completing the FAFSA to all Vermont students. First, create an FSA ID. Then, schedule an appointment to schedule an appointment.

Keep SCOIR Updated.
- Keep the “My College” section current! Ensure that colleges are correctly sorted into “applying” or “applied. This is how counselors continue to know where to send your application materials.
Send Official Test Scores Through CollegeBoard or ACT (if applicable).
- If students are applying anywhere that requires official test scores, they will need to send official results from CollegeBoard or ACT directly to a given college. This can be done electronically through the links above.
Monitor Each Individual College Application Portal.
- Every college to which students apply will provide them with a login to set up an applicant portal. Create that applicant portal! This is how students will receive updates from their schools (including admissions decisions!) and schools may also request additional information. Let your counselor know if any documents are appearing in your portals as missing.
