- The winners of the Kinder than the Average Bear award were named this week. The focus for this round was responsible decision making. Congratulations!

Seniors who want a portrait other than their ID photo can submit a photo either through Schoology or email one to jessicaeakin@
Parent Ads for Senior Parents
Senior parents have the option of creating a parent ad in the yearbook. Parent ads go at the end of the yearbook and are a message you send to your child or to the class of 2025. Go to Picaboo to purchase and design your parent ad or learn about purchasing and designing your ad. Parent Ads are due April 25, 2025.

YIA Sign Up
All HHS students are encouraged to participate in Youth-In-Action community service events. We host a variety of opportunities and are always looking for ways to connect with more of our student body. The event sign up is available here. Students must be logged in to their school Google accounts in order to sign up.
Counseling Department Updates
Quarter 3 ends today. This week in Advisory, students reflected on their personal growth and academic progress during the third quarter, and they set intentions for Quarter 4.
Upcoming Visits
A Representative from the US marine Corp will be visiting on Tuesday, April 29 in the Atrium at lunch.
College Credit Opportunities
The Vermont Dual Enrollment Program enables Vermont juniors and seniors to take up to two FREE college courses for dual high school AND college credit.
3D Technology Summer Institute at Vermont State University (VTSU) – Randolph
- Vermont students have the chance to explore cutting-edge 3D Imaging, 3D Printing, and 3D Modeling through hands-on, two-week intensive courses—while earning college credits for free! Interested students can learn more and apply at VermontState.edu/YouthCamps.
Information for Junior Families
Counselors met with all juniors on February 5 to begin the future planning process.

Vermont Early College Program
- Vermont’s Early College program enables Vermont seniors to complete their last year of high school and their first year of college at the same time. Students earn free college credits that also count toward graduation from HHS. Students enroll in a full-time college course load each semester, and are also able to participate in HHS activities such as sports and prom. See your school counselor if you are interested in this program. The McClure Free Degree Promise is a pathway to a free associate degree for Vermonters who complete the CCV Early College program and then continue with full-time enrollment at CCV to complete the second year of their associate degree.

Senior Families Future Planning to-dos
Complete the FAFSA.
The 2025-2026 FAFSA is open, and FREE professional help is available to complete it.
- GraniteEdvance offers FREE professional support in completing the FAFSA to all New Hampshire students. First, create an FSA ID. Then, schedule an appointment.
- VSAC offers FREE professional support in completing the FAFSA to all Vermont students. First, create an FSA ID. Then, schedule an appointment.
Apply for scholarships.
- Attention seniors: please complete the 2025 Local Scholarship application. The application deadline is Friday, May 2nd at 3 PM. By submitting this one application, you will automatically be considered for approximately 15 local scholarships. This application has been emailed to seniors and parents, and it has also been advertised on Schoology. Students must be in their school email account to complete the application. Although a majority of scholarships are determined with need in mind, a few awards include specific criteria that are not need based.
