Hanover High School is contacted by local businesses and non-profits to make our parents and students aware of upcoming opportunities. We publish information that directly supports or enhances our 9-12 population. Please note that these are not school sponsored events.

Event Title: Science Day at Dartmouth

Attention all scientists!! We are thrilled to announce the return of Science Day at Dartmouth, taking place on Saturday April 25th, 2026 from 10am - 3pm on the Dartmouth College campus in Hanover, NH! Come join us for a day filled with fun interactive experiments and demonstrations led by current Dartmouth students and staff, learn about their work, and find out about what they love to do. Students and families will have a chance to meet researchers training across various scientific areas including but not limited to Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, and Math. Activities are geared towards students ranging from K-12, however all are welcome (note: all students must be accompanied by an adult). New this year, we will be hosting a High School student specific program to further explore research topics, careers, and the college application (see flyer). Horizon Academic Research Program is a selective online research program for gifted high school students interested in doing undergraduate-level research. Our students produce a research paper by working with professors/PhD scholars from places like Harvard, MIT, Yale, Dartmouth, in fields like computer science, biology, economics, and physics. The summer regular deadline is April 19. Some need based aid is available.

Intern, George Perkins Marsh Career Exploration Internship, American Conservation Experience (ACE):

Open to high school students or recent graduates interested in exploring careers in the National Park Service and allied fields.

  • Responsibilities: Assist with hands-on work projects in a variety of park divisions at MBRNHP (interpretation, resource management, facilities management, cultural resources);  participate in leadership and skill development workshops and mentoring; plan and execute a daylong youth summit; serve as NPS liaison at park visitor centers and special park events.

  • Qualifications: High school student or recent graduate; at least 16 years of age; ability to work with a diversity of people in a public setting; strong interest in learning about careers in the National Park Service or allied fields; willingness to work outdoors.

  • Benefits: $350 weekly stipend; eligibility for other internships and positions within the National Park Service and allied agencies. 

  • Dates: June 23 - August 14, Tues, Thurs, Fri 8-12, Wed 8-4:30
