French Poems
French students will select one of the three options provided for their level to recite. Recitations will be in front of a team of volunteer judges. Scoring is focused mainly on the quality and inflection of the spoken language, and on the student's stage presence. The two judges at each recitation will evaluate each student according to these four criteria:
- 50% Pronunciation
- 30% Stage Presence and Delivery
- 20% Memorization
Please note that props and costumes may be used, but are not considered in scoring nor are they necessarily encouraged. Singing your selections is discouraged — an overly polite way of saying that students who sing their poems will be disqualified.
