Art Department

As art teachers, our goals are to:

• Introduce students to a wide range of art media, concepts and techniques
• Teach students the skills they need in order to recognize excellence in art and pursue excellence in art production
• Guide students to reflect upon and evaluate their own work
• Create an atmosphere in which students respect themselves and their peers, their own work and the work of others
• When possible, integrate the art activities with other subjects taught in other curricula
• Encourage students to be creative, take risks, make statements, be thoughtful, express their true selves and have fun in the process of creating art.
