Cover Submission Guidelines

Covers need to be done digitally or using bold markers or paints (no water colors) in order to reproduce well enough to print. No pencil drawings accepted. Digital submissions need to be 300dpi.

The overall dimensions for the cover is: 20 in x 13.375 (includes approximately a .55 inch spine in the middle). Cover design should extend to the full size, however, there is a 1.5 inch border that will wrap around the inside of the yearbook. So while your cover needs to fill the entire 20 x 13.375, important elements need to be in the 17 x 11 safe zone. Approximately 8 x 11 will be visible on the front cover and back, with about 1 inch becoming the spine.

Do not put spine text on your cover design. We need to add this in the yearbook program at the end. You can put Hanover High School Yearbook on the cover.

Include your name on the cover--usually in the bottom outside corner of the back cover.
Winning covers often connect to our school and/or our community in someway.
